Joanne M. Mosley, 79
Joanne Marie Mosley, 79 of Portsmouth died Tuesday July 21, 2015 at Heartland of Portsmouth. She was born April 27, 1936 in Henderson, WV to the late Julia (Litteral) Austin Watson and Orville Watson. Joanne had made her home at Riverview Retirement for the last five years and made many friends with residents, staff, and the caregivers who helped her through her illness of the last two and a half years. She had previously lived on Slab Run in West Portsmouth, for 60 years close to her sons and grandchildren and many other relatives. Jo was someone who everyone knew and had many friends and neighbors. She always sent a birthday card to everyone and kept an updated list of their new addresses, name changes, and new additions to families, so she could remember and send a card-she always remembered. Many will never forget her kindness.
Joanne is preceded in death by her husband Harvey E. Mosley who died July 24, 1986, 4 sisters Georgene Mosley Perdue, Dora Dee "Dody" Mosley Rotenberry, Rebecca Jane "Becky" Mosley Leininger and a baby sister Emily Sue Mosley.
Surviving are her two sons; Michael Dale Mosley of West Portsmouth, Harvey Estel (Maribet) Mosley Jr. of West Portsmouth. 4 sisters; Norma Jean "Skip" (Harold) Hobbs of Springfield, Pluma Mosley (Cleve) Cool of Blue Mound, Wisconsin, Karen Watson of Parkersburg, WV, and Cheryl "Katie" Watson of Covington GA, 1 brother John (Sydney) Watson of Rodney, OH 12 grandchildren; Jason, Jonathon, Jeremy, Brian, Stacey, Michael, Jay, and Billy Mosley, Rebecca (Josh) Carter, Julia (Mitchell) Galloway, Tasha Marie Rottenberry, and Caroline Leininger, 6 Great Grandchildren; Sherwood, Laila, Ezekiel, and Justin Mosley, Bailey Davis, and Emily Scaff, a special cousin who is like a sister Caroline Farney along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00PM Monday July 27, 2015 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Don Malone officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8PM on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
