Joe Ross Thorne Sr., 57
Joe Ross Thorne Sr., 57 of Otway died Friday November 23 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born December 28, 1954 in Everett, Washington to the late Larry and Ann Thorne. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran who served 2 tours in Vietnam. He was a Loader operator and worked at Taylor Lumber for 15 years.
Joe is survived by his wife Margaret Ann Hewitt Thorne who he married October 23, 2005, 4 sons; Joe Ross Thorne Jr. of Greenup Ky., Floyd Thorne of South Webster, William Varney and Justin Varney both of Otway, 2 daughters Mary Cornell of South Webster and Rosa Thorne of Portsmouth. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday November 29, 2012 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Interment will be in Garvin Cemetery with graveside military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
