John Russell Askew, 69 John Russell Askew, 69 of Portsmouth, died Friday June 13, 2014 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born July 7, 1944 in Portsmouth to the late Ray and Anna Marie Heath Askew. He was retired from Dayton Walther Corporation and worked for Dr. Bill Eshman. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Along with his parents John was preceded in death by twin sons; Larry Russell and Gary Ray Askew, a brother James Richard Askew and a sister Wanda Keglovich. John is survived by 3 daughters; Gerri Fisher of Clovis, CA., Stacy (Justin) Dayton of Cincinnati and Jennifer Askew of Portsmouth, a brother, Paul Askew of Portsmouth and a sister Ruth Jean Mullins of Port Richie, FL., 5 grandchildren; Keith Fisher, Zach Parson and triplet granddaughters; Haley, Tash and Cassi, his companion Norma Jordan and special friends Donald and Phyllis Sparks. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday June 16, 2014 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Junior Wiley officiating. Interment will be in McKendree Cemetery with graveside military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
