John J. Foster, 77

John J. Foster "Big John" 77 of West Portsmouth , died Friday May 8, 2015 at SOMC Hospice. He was born February 9, 1938 in Portsmouth to the late Joseph and Margaret Gates Foster. He was a retired Operating Engineer. John was a Shriner and also a member of the Rome Masonic Lodge 535. Along with his parents he was preceeded in death by his sister Cathy Hole.

John is survived by three sons; John Joseph Foster Jr. of West Portsmouth, Jeff (Vicki) Foster of Manchester, and Jay (Bonny) Foster of West Portsmouth, one daughter,  Jennifer (Richard) Allison of Pensacola Florida, five sisters; Ann O'Dowd, Agnus Kroh, Rosie Freeman, Francis Assimakopoulous and Mary Louise Rush along with several grandchildren as well as great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00AM Tuesday May 12, 2015 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Father David Young officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park . Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00PM Monday. Masonic services will be held at 8:00PM Monday by the Rome Masonic Lodge 535.
