John Walter Furnier 77
John Walter Furnier 77 of Stout, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at SOMC Hopsice. John was born May 30, 1932 in Stout, to the late Walter H. and Belma Gilpin Furnier. He was a specialist for Adams-Brown Metro housing and had retired from the Union Barge Line after 21 Years. John was also preceded in death by two sisters; Joann McFarland Angle and Josephine Furnier and one grandchild; Benjamin W. Ferguson.
John is survived by his wife; Bertha Jane Blevins Furnier, whom he married, September 12, 1964 in Portsmouth, Ohio, one daughter; Suzanne Furnier Ferguson of Portsmouth, one brother; James E. Furnier of Stout, one sister; Erma Jean Perry of Portsmouth, one grandchild; Joseph Michael Ferguson and nieces; Lana Perry, Pam Riepenhoff, Patricia (Glenn) Hunter and Sandra (Anthony) Payne, nephews; R. Steven Perry and Ronald (Melissa) Furnier.
Funeral services will be 11AM, Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Roger W Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Rev. Sammy Salyer's officiating and interment in Sandy Spring Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8pm on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
