John B. Hamilton Sr., 55
John B. Hamilton Sr., 55 of West Portsmouth, went home to be with his Heavenly Father, on August 3, 2011. He was born January 18, 1956 to the late Watt and Mary Alice Neal Hamilton. John enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 18 and served aboard the U.S.S Austin. On May 22, 1976 he married Jayne Wallace, they celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this May. John was a 1993 Graduate of Shawnee State University, and a first line foreman at USEC, and had previously worked at G.E in Peebles, Ohio.
John is survived by his wife Jayne, loving children Jamie (Will) Bays, and Johnny Hamilton Jr., 5 sisters; Catherine (Wayne) Cooper, Connie (Phil) Bean, Brenda (Tim) Berry, Vickie Collier, and Sharon (Steve) Ward, 2 brothers; Frank (Kim) Hamilton and Kenny Hamilton, 4 grandchildren; Jacob, Levi, Johnny Lee and Madison Brooke, 11 nieces and nephews and mother in law; Johanna Risner.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday August 8, 2011 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Military Rites by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
