John Henry Journey, 86

John Henry Journey, 86 of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday May 20, 2008 at his home. He was born November 11, 1921 in West Portsmouth to the late John and Gertrude Henderson Journey. He was a former mechanic at Glockner's and retired as a self employed auto mechanic. He was a member of Stoney Run Freewill Baptist Church. Along with his parents John was preceded in death by his first wife Thelma Moore Journey, a son Rodney Journey, 7 brothers and 3 sisters.

John is survived by his wife Anna Louise Blevins Journey, a son John Roger Journey of West Portsmouth, a daughter Rita Sue Journey of South Portsmouth, Ky, 10 step children; Virginia Journey Sadler of Findley, Ohio, David Michael Journey, Joyce Amanda Newman, Peggy Sue Fegley, Bart Randall Journey, Samuel D. Journey, Charles Matthew Journey, Mark Steven Journey, Anthony Russell Journey, and Teddy Dale Journey all of West Portsmouth, a sister Irene McCoy of Friendship and several grand and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday May 24, 2008 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Craddock Frye officiating and interment in Stoney Run Cemetery.
