John R. Payne, 86 of McDermott died, March 29, 2008 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. John was born September 7, 1921 in Portsmouth, to the late Harry and Catherine Hilliard Payne.John was a WWII Army veteran and was employed at Wallers Stone. John was also proceeded in death by 4 sons; Glenn, Carl, Johnny, and Dennis Payne, one sister; Carol Weatherford and four brother's; Meril, Leo, Marion and Charles Payne.
John is survived by his wife Katherine Payne; 2 sons; Charles and James Payne, 6 sisters; Juanita Fields, Connie Skagg's, Chyrl Berryman, Joyce Hughes, Shirley George and Cynthia Dingus. 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1PM, Thursday, April 3, 2008 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
