Johnnie R. Welch, 86

Johnnie R. Welch, 86 of West Portsmouth, died Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at his home. He was born October 20, 1939 in West Portsmouth to the late Johnnie and Willa May Conley Welch.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Roseann Esham Welch and a son Johnnie Welch.

Johnnie was a retired truck driver and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by 3 sons; Mark (Jane) Welch, Timothy Welch and Walter Welch (Barb Cooley), a daughter Brenda Copley, a brother, James Oscar Lee Welch, 10 grandchildren; Mark Welch Jr., Mason Welch, Amanda Welch, Megan Welch, Amber White, Jeremy Copley Amy Zabaga, Nadia Smith, Elizabeth Welch and Emily Welch, 4 great grandchildren; Ace Welch, Owen White, Levi White, and Nick Zielinski, along with 7 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Monday, March 2, 2026 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Paul Mangus officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park.
