Jon Kent Yeley, 64

Jon Kent Yeley, 64, of Amelia, OH died Thursday, July 13, 2006 at his home. He was born January 14, 1942 in Beckley, WVA to the late Stanley Leroy and Willa Irene Maynard Yeley. He was graduated from Washington Local school District in 1959 and attended Bulova School of Watchmaking in New York City. He joined Morgan Brothers Jewelers and E.W. Smith Jewelers of Chillicothe. Jon moved to Greenfield, IN to become a salesman for E. & J. Swigarts Company of Cincinnati, OH, moving into a management position. Later he worked for McCalls Watch Company of Toledo and retired from Speidel.

Jon was a member of National Who's Who of Watch Making, President of Watchmakers Association of IN, and President of Sales Representatives of Indianapolis. He was a member of the National Guard serving as a Staff Sergeant, and a member of B.P.O.E. of Greenfield, IN where he served as Chaplain and Lead Knight. He attended McKendree United Methodist Church. Jon's hobby was woodworking and he especially loved making objects of wood from old houses and buildings.

Jon is survived by his wife, Rita Karlene Eubanks Yeley whom he married on August 11, 1973 in Stout, OH. He is also survived by two daughters, Amy Heather Yeley Wright (Bryan) of Vanceburg, KY, Heidi Irene Yeley Troxell (Chris) of Colorado Springs, CO;
a sister, Betty Yeley Morgan of Stout; a sister-in-law Sue Essman (Bob) of Stout; 4 grandchildren, Lacy, Kelsey, and Seth Wright and Hailey Troxell; nieces and nephews, Willa Tanner, Rick Morgan, Mark Morgan, and Amy Fredrickson, Kyle Essman, Beth Ferrell, John Essman, Laryssa Grashel, Tracey Norman, He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Mae Jenkins Yeley and Millard and Elva Harris Maynard, a brother-in-law Vic Morgan and a nephew Victor Morgan.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Monday, July 17, 2006 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Matt Brooks officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Burial Park with graveside military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 5 to 8 on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday. There will also be a Memorial Visitation Tuesday from 2 to 4PM in the parlor of Anderson Hills Methodist Church on the corner of Beechmont Ave and Fourth Street in Anderson Township, in Cincinnati.
