Jonas Blevins, 81

Jonas Blevins, 81 of Friendship, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born June 7, 1931 in Adams County to the late Hugh and Goldie Fite Blevins. He was a Laborer and a member of Labors Local 83 and was of the Pentecostal faith. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a son Jonas L "Frosty" Tom Blevins Jr., 2 daughters; Laura Mae Hayslip and Joyce Ann Cook, a niece Stephanie Frye, 2 nephews Greg Roe and Jason Richmond, a sister Evelyn and 2 brothers Harry and Hugh.

Jonas is survived by his wife of 60 years, Clara Murphy Blevins, 3 sons; William Henry "Red"(Mary) Blevins of Buena Vista, Roy "Pete" (Reenie) Blevins of McDermott and Travis (Jessie) Blevins of Friendship, 7 daughters; Lenora Blevins and Carl Holsinger of Stout, Harriette (Rick) Richmond of Stout, Brenda (Buck) Parker of Long Lick, , Audrey Roe of Buena Vista, Louise (Kenny) Holsinger of Manchester, Wilma (Leroy) Holsinger of Blue Creek, Tammy Cooper of Portsmouth and Cathy Blevins of Columbus, 2 very special gt gt granddaughters; Katie and Kara Blevins, special grandson Arnold Holsinger, granddaughter that they raised Chelsea Cook a brother Roy Blevins of Portsmouth, 2 sisters; Frances Haynes of Portsmouth and Wanda Abbott of Indiana, 99 grandchildren, great grandchildren and gt gt grandchildren that he enjoyed and loved. He had many nieces and nephews and family members that he had touched their lives. He was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandpa and friend. He will be missed so much, everyone loved him, his family, his church family and his friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday October 10, 2012 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Paul Holbrook officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery.
