Joseph "Joe Bob" Sowards Jr. 55
Joseph "Joe Bob" Sowards Jr, 55 of Columbus died Tuesday, October 23 ,2007 in a Columbus Hospital. Joe was born November 15, 1951 in Scioto County to Joseph Raymond and Sadie Givens Sowards Sr. who survive. He had worked for Swift Trucking and was a former Volunteer Fire Fighter for the Washington Township fire department.
He is survived by his wife Michelle Holcomb Sowards whom he married October 28, 1972 in Quincy, KY. Also surviving is a son; Alan Sowards, a daughter; Sarah (Jason) Castle, one brother; Rick Sowards all of Columbus, two sisters; Donna (Gary) Ridout and Tina (Jeff) Smith of West Portsmouth, and two grandchildren; Wyatt and Shanadoah Castle of Columbus.
Funeral services will be 1PM Saturday, October 27, 2007 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, Ohio with visitation one hour prior to the service, with Cal Ray Evans officiating. A service will also be held 1PMSunday, October 28, 2007 at the Schoedinger Hill Top Chapel in Columbus with visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations be sent to Children's Hospital in Columbus. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
