Joseph Henry Schackart Jr., 79
Joseph Henry Schackart Jr., 79 of West Portsmouth died Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Heartland of Portsmouth. He was born March 9, 1939 in Portsmouth to the late Joseph Henry and Mary Jane Evans Schackart. He was a retired driver and salesman for Snyders.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by 2 sons; Joe Schackart III and Dustin Schackart, a sister; Norma Russo, 3 brothers; Richard, Bill, and Bob Schackart, and a son-in-law; Jeff Bentley.
Joseph is survived by 4 sons; Jim, Scott (Susie), Jason, and Brandon Schackart, 6 daughters; Jane Heatherly, Cheryl (Phil) Taylor, Lisa Bentley, Jennifer Schackart (Scott Bricker), Amy Schackart, and Renea (Scott) Bush, a brother; Mike Schackart, 19 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 5:00 PM Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Deacon Kyle Pennant officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday starting at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Joseph's name.
