Joyce Ann Mathews, 83

Joyce Ann Mathews, 83 of Friendship died Friday, December 18, 2020 at Southern Ohio Medical Center.  She was born November 12, 1937 in Friendship.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Doris Shaw and William Meyer, her husband, David T. Mathews, her son, David T. Mathews II, a brother, David Meyer, and a son-in-law, Ross Haynes.

Joyce retired from JC Penney, a member of the Nile over 55 Club, the Nile Township Auxiliary and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

Joyce is survived by 2 daughters; Teresa Collins of Portsmouth and Brenda Haynes of West Portsmouth, a daughter-in-law, Sherry Mathews, a sister, Wilma (Rodney) Summerfield, 10 grandchildren; Deanna Wallace, Bethany (Kris) Irwin, Scott (Jessica) Bentley, Cassie Faturiyele, Ashley (Ryan) Hickman, Davy (Ashley) Mathews, Chandelle Mathews, Lori Haynes, Crystal Haynes, and Brian Haynes, 24 great grandchildren, and a great great grandson, along with extended family; Sam (Pam) Kessinger, Brian (Frances) Kessinger, and Carrie (JB) Berry.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Monday, December 28, 2020 at McKendree Cemetery with Rick Phillips officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth.  Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
