Juanita K. Boyd, 81
Juanita K. Boyd, 81 of West Portsmouth died Monday, October 17, 2005 at Heartland of Portsmouth. Juanita was born March 14, 1924 in Rockwood,Tennessee to the late Will and Ella Brown Rodgers. She moved from Rockwood, TN to Logan, WVA at an early age. After marrying her husband John Boyd of Logan, they moved to Portsmouth. She was a member of Stoney Run Freewill Baptist Church where her husband was a former pastor.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, John Boyd and one child. She is survived by a son, (James) Darwin) Boyd (Carol) of Cape Coral, FL; two daughters, Janice (David) Hamilton of West Portsmouth and Joyce (Dean) Bentley of Garrison, KY; seven grandchildren, David A. Hamilton, Tammy Walsh, Joshua Boyd, Timothy Boyd, Jamie Boyd, Michael Clark, Jodie Seison; 11 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth conducted by her son James D. Boyd of Cape Coral, Florida and Grandson Timothy Boyd of Columbus. Interment in Sunset Gardens will follow. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 6 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com .
