Juanita J. Kammer, 82
Juanita J. Kammer, 82, of West Portsmouth died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Heartland of Portsmouth. She was born July 5, 1927 in Portsmouth to the late Hobart and Myrtle Mae Snyder Johnson. She was retired from Williams Shoe Factory and was a member of Dry Run Church of Christ for over 35 years. She also attended the Mabert Road Baptist Church for the last 2 years. Juanita was a very loving and caring person and touched a lot of people throughout her life. She was a "Granny" to many. Along with her parents Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Russell L. Kammer who she married on April 24, 1948 in Greenup, a son John Kammer, 3 brothers; Holbert Johnson Jr., James and Hubert Johnson, and 2 sisters; Evelyn Rapp and Delores Flannery.
Juanita is survived by three sons; Gary (Linda) Johnson, Dave (Debbie) Kammer of West Portsmouth and Mike (Becky) Kammer of Stout, one daughter; Carolyn (Phillip) James of Chipley, FL, 9 grandchildren; Duane (Mary) Johnson, Ronda Johnson, Rene James, Phillip James Jr., Shannon Kammer, Justin (Renee')Kammer, Chad (Jennifer) Kammer, Missy (Shawn) Tatman and Jason (Missy) Waller and 14 great grandchildren, 4 sisters Bertha Robinson, Martha Plummer, Mary Brandenburg and Helen Entler all of the Portsmouth area, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday April 25, 2010 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Mark Seevers officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8:00 PM on Saturday and one hour before the service on Sunday. The family would like to thank Dr. Jeffrey Hill and all the staff at Heartland of Portsmouth for the wonderful care given to Juanita.
