Juanita Mayo Puckett, 77

Juanita Mayo "Granny" Puckett 77 of West Portsmouth, died Sunday November 9, 2008 at her home. She was born May 2, 1931 in Portsmouth to the late Ollie and Fontella Proctor Mayo Sr. She was a retired Daycare provider and attended Power and Praise Tabernacle. Along with her parents Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Roy Franklin Puckett who she married March 5, 1954 in Lawrenceburg, In., 4 brothers Ebert, Ollie, Andrew and James Mayo, a sister Beulah Bowman and a special nephew Addison "Pete" Keaton.

Juanita is survived by two children; William T. Puckett and Bathsheba P.(Ted) Colley both of West Portsmouth, 4 grandchildren; Jedidah (Janice) Cyrus, Roy Cody Colley and Maggee Colley all of West Portsmouth and Adam Colley of Florida, 1 great grandchild Sydney Cyrus of West Portsmouth, a brother Bill (Thelma) Mayo of Florida and 2 sisters; Helen Martin and Madeline (Addison) Keaton both of Portsmouth, along with several nieces and nephews and a special friend Paul Thompson of West Portsmouth.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday November 13, 2008 at the Apostolic Gospel Church in Portsmouth with William Knittel officiating and interment in Cooper Cemetery. Friends may call at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth from 3 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
