Judith Elaine Browning, 86

Judith Elaine Browning, 86 of West Portsmouth, died Monday, July 27, 2026 at The Courtyard of Wheelersburg assisted living center. She was born August 14, 1939 in West Union to the late Fred and Dorothy Grooms Cummings.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Keith Browning, whom she married on October 19, 1957, a son, David Keith Browning, a brother, Gene Cummings and a sister, Mary Ann Ewry.

Judy was a retired school teacher from Washington Nile Schools. She was a member of Nauvoo Methodist Church where her and her husband were youth leaders for many years. Stoutsville Church Camp was big part of Judy's life. She was President of the Lady's Auxiliary, children's director and youth counselor of the Nauvoo Cabin at camp.

Judy is survived by a son, Mark Browning, a daughter, Cheryl (Brian) Lundy, a grandson, Eric (Kathryn) Lundy, and 2 sisters; Freda Frowine and Sharon Elting.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday at Nauvoo Methodist Church in West Portsmouth with Pastor Pete Shaffer officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the church on Friday starting at 11:00 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth.
