Katherine Jane Turner, 86
Katherine Jane Turner, 86 of West Portsmouth, died Thursday April 15, 2010 at her home. She was born June 3, 1923 in Buena Vista to the late Walter Orville and Emma Margaret Schuler Shively. She was the Owner Operator of Shawnee Dairy Bar for 15 years and attended Faith Mountain Ministries and Riverview Wesleyan Church. Along with her parents Katherine was preceded in death by her husband Carl Turner who she married on March 9, 1943, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Katherine is survived by 2 sons; Joseph (Sandy) Turner of McDermott and James (Kitty) Turner of Friendship, 3 daughters; Margaret (Glenn) Wheeler of Mineral Ridge, Ohio, Connie Jewell of West Portsmouth and Candy (Mike) Foster of Marietta, 3 sisters; Ruth Hammond of Parma, Rosella Lewis of Brookpark, Oh and Mary Lou McTigue of Fl., 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Also surviving is a special boy she raised Jim (Rachelle) Swords of Augusta, Ga. and special friend "Princess".
Funeral services will be 2:00 Pm Sunday April 18, 2010 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Craddock Frye officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 8:00 PM on Saturday and one hour prior to the service on Sunday. The family's favorite charities are SOMC Hospice and the American Diabetes Association.
