Kathleen V. Humphreys, 88

Kathleen V. "Kate" Humphreys, 88 of West Portsmouth, died Sunday May 1, 2016 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in McDermott. She was born May 21, 1927 in Fincastle, Virginia to the late William Jackson and Ida Pearl Bradberry Baber. She retired from General Telephone, where she was the Chief Operator and also a Supervisor. She was a member of Dry Run Church of Christ, B.P.W. and volunteered for Goodwill. Along with her parents Kate was preceded in death by her husband Charles Edward Humphreys, 3 sons' Robert and Walter Witt and Charles Humphreys, 4 brothers; Robert, Charles, William and Bill Baber and a sister Mary Fisher.

Kate is survived by a son William "Bill" Humphreys of Franklin Furnace, 2 daughters; Cheryl Slusher of Lucasville and Betty Wilder of West Portsmouth, 3 sisters; Constance Dudding of Christiansburg, VA, Jacqueline Jones of Aurora, Ill. and Doris Rae Spriggs of Portsmouth, 17 grandchildren 19 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday May 6, 2016 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Mark Seevers officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park.
