Kathleen Louise McNutt, 70

Kathleen Louise "Kathy" (Riley) McNutt 70, of Portsmouth died Saturday April 19th unexpectedly at SOMC. She was born 04/01/1955 to the late Herman and Clara (Billian) Riley of Portsmouth.

Along with her parents, she is proceeded in death by her brothers Pat & Steve Riley, and brothers-in- law Ralph (Junior) McNutt, David McNutt, Frank Nunn and several special cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kathy retired from SOMC as a Switchboard operator & courier and worked as a dog groomer during retirement. She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School class of 1974.

Kathy loved her family fiercely. She enjoyed bingo, estate sales, yard sales, scratch off tickets, and was a member of FOE New Boston. Her favorite flower was tulips, she loved beach family vacations, crafting and wind chimes. Her favorite charity was St. Jude's. She believed in God and was saved. She knew one day she would be reunited with all those who await our arrival to His Kingdom.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years John William "Buck" McNutt, daughters Jennifer McNutt (Donald "Smitty") Smith of Franklin Furnace, OH, Jonda McNutt of Portsmouth, OH and their four-legged brother Sir William "Willy" Longdog.

Her beloved grandchildren Adrianna "AJ" (Erik) Gibson of Franklin Furnace, Johnathon (Chelsea) Walters of Wheelersburg, Allyson (Alec) Liston of Portsmouth, Tyler Knittel of Portsmouth, Dillon Smith of Franklin Furnace, Kimberly Smith of Gallion and Dezeree Sablan.

She adored her great-grandchildren Aylianna "Sissybug" & Baylie "BayBay Grace" Gibson, Draydon & Lilly Smith, Beauden Tyler & Crue Daniel Liston and her bonus grandchildren Domonic, Landon, Koltyn, Isiaih, Jordon, Caidence, Maleah, Giovanni, Paisley, Branson & Sophia.

Kathy is one of 15 children: Danny & Robyn Riley, Portsmouth-Robyn was a special sister-in-law, she was her best friend, Bill & Connie George, Wheelersburg, Jaycee & Darlene Riley, West Unity, Jim & Geneva Riley, Wheelersburg, Jeff & Betsy Riley, Minford, Lynn Nunn, Portsmouth, Janice (Jan) Smith, Portsmouth, Teresa Watkins, Columbus, William (Billy) Riley, Archbold, Michael (Mike) Riley, Marion, Pat's wife Betty Riley, Portsmouth, Her brother and Sister in law's; Terry & Kim McNutt, West Portsmouth, Dwight McNutt, Rosemont, Sherry McNutt, Portsmouth, Doug & Teresa McNutt, McDermott.

As you can imagine with a family this size she was loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 4pm-8pm, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Her funeral service will be at 8pm following visitation with her nephew Chad McNutt officiating.
