Kathryn Elizabeth Swords 82
Kathryn Elizabeth Swords 82, of Naces Run, died Sunday, April 25, 2010 at SOMC Hospice. Kathryn was born March 26, 1928 in Portsmouth to the late Arthur and Della Evans Lewis. She was a homemaker and a member of Naces Run Tabernacle. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband; James Berlin Swords, 3 daughters; Brenda, Wilma and Gwendolyn Swords, two brothers; James and Frank Lewis and 3 sisters; Lemonne Sally, Margaret Langdon and Myrtle Arthur.
Kathryn is survived by two sons; Berlyn (Mary) Swords of Stoney Run and Roger (Kathy) Swords of Naces Run, one daughter; Christine Stamper of Naces Run, one sister; Wilma Jane Cook of Anadarks, OK, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1pm, Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Danny Swords officiating and interment in Vaughters Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 until the funeral hour on Thursday. A special thanks would like to be given to the nursing staff a SOMC Hopsice for their special care.
