Lee Hurley Maynard 85
Lee Hurley Maynard 85 of West Portsmouth, died Monday, March 29, 2010 at Heartland of Portsmouth. Lee was born August 28, 1924 in New Boston, to the late Hurley and Cynthia Ann Moore Maynard. He was a WWII Navy veteran and had worked as 1st Mate on the riverboats in Chicago, Ill. Lee was proceeded in death by his wife; Grace Marie Cottrell Maynard, whom he married in Seattle, Wa on June 25, 1949 and one daughter; Cynthia Ann Brisker.
Lee is survived by his sister; Edna "Vicky" Sunok of West Portsmouth, son-in-law; Fred Brisker of Minford, two granddaughters; Carrie (Matthew) Purcell of Minford and Mamie Brisker of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, , two great grandchildren; Jackson James and Ryan Grace Purcell of Minford and a special friend; Mattie Ashley.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the Roger W Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Internment will be in Rushtown Cemetery with graveside military rites by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8pm on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to American Heart Association PO Box 163549, Columbus, Ohio 43216-3549 in Lee's name. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
