Leslie Eugene Manchester, 79
Leslie Eugene "Gene" Manchester, 79 of West Portsmouth, died Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born February 2, 1944 in Sinking springs to the late Charles Manchester and Lucille Easter Jordan.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Patricia Cremeans Manchester, 2 brothers: Charles "Pete" Manchester Jr. and Richard Jordan and a sister Maxine Evans.
Gene was a member of the former member Teamsters Union; he worked 15 years with his son at Manchester Construction. He retired doing what he loved, being on the farm and raising cattle with his very good friend, Dean Marcum. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved nature.
Gene is survived by a son, Robert "Bob" Eugene (Lois) Manchester, a daughter, Penny (Jeff) Hubbard, a sister Charlin Fyffe, 4 grandchildren; Bob Manchester Jr., Stacey Reed, Sarah (Eddie) Coleman, and J.D. (Alexis) Jones, 5 great grandchildren; Gavin, Braiden, Kensley, Braxton, and Clover, sister-in-law Carolyn "Sue" Peace, a special cousin Larry and Judy Fetters along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 Pm Saturday March 11, 2023 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Rick Phillips officiating and interment in Collier Memorial Gardens.
