Linda Marie Distel, 57

Linda Marie Distel, 57 of West Portsmouth, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born July 14, 1949 in Cuyahoga County to the late Ernest Howerton and Marie Jarvis Howerton of West Portsmouth. Linda was a former employee of Southern Ohio Medical Center, a member of Washington Squad 9 for many years and was Squad Chief for 15 years, and was voted EMT of the year in 1992. She also attended Dry Run Mission Church.

Linda is survived by her husband Carl W. Distel Jr. whom she married May 1, 1977 in West Portsmouth. She is also survived by 5 sons; Carl Dwayne (Sandy) Distel of South Webster, Darin G. (Amy) Distel, Wayne (Brandi) Stewart and John Stewart all of West Portsmouth, 1 daughter Jennifer (Eric) Mills of Bainbridge, 1 brother Bob (Diane) Howerton of West Portsmouth, 7 grandchildren; Sarah (Kyle) McCleese, Christopher Distel, Nathan Distel, Gage Mills, Cole Distel, Breanna Stewart and Logan Mills, 2 brother-in-law's David Distel and Gary (Joelene) Distel and a sister-in-law Carol Spencer along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

Along with her father, Linda was also preceded in death by a son Daniel Distel, a brother Jerry Howerton, a sister Connie Bennett, mother and father-in-law Carl and Jewell Distel, brother-in-law Fred Spencer and sister-in-law Linda K. Distel.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Sunday March 25, 2007 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Reverend David Distel officiating. Interment will be at Scioto Burial Park.
