Lois Ann Jenkins, 88
Lois Ann Jenkins, 88, of Blue Creek, passed away peacefully on September 3rd at her home. Lois Ann was a devoted and faithful mother, granny, sister, wife, and Christian.
Lois Ann was born on March 14th, 1938, on Sunshine Ridge in Adams County to William and Bonnie Hayslip. She was very proud of her Appalachian heritage and spent her entire life close to where she was born.
Lois Ann spent her life taking care of and serving others. She and her husband, Carl Ray Jenkins, raised three children—Rick, Brenda, and Carl Jr. and became pillars in their community. Lois Ann wore many hats throughout her life. She was a business owner, hairdresser, and nanny. She also survived cancer and, later in life, continued to find purpose in advising, encouraging, and praying for those she loved. However, her most important roles were serving the Lord and caring for her family. She was driven, opinionated, compassionate, and cared deeply for those she knew.
Lois Ann was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, seven siblings, and one son, Rick (Patty). She is survived by her children, Carl Jr. (Dorothy) and Brenda; five grandsons; four great-grandchildren (Leroy, Hayden, Haylie, and Jude), one great-great-grandchild (Eleanor), and one brother, Tommy.
Lois Ann lived a full life and gave everything she had to build a lasting legacy for her family. Many people found or strengthened their relationship with Jesus through her. Her faithful prayers and service will ring throughout generations long after her. Now, Lois Ann is reunited with several loved ones in Heaven for eternity.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9th, at Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Services will take place at 1 p.m., following visitation. Interment will take place following the service at Sunshine Ridge Cemetery in Blue Creek, Ohio. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
