Louella Mitchell, 84

Louella Mitchell, 84 of West Portsmouth, died Friday September 5, 2014 at Hempstead Manor. She was born March 11, 1930 in West Portsmouth of the late Cecil Edward and Fannie M. Deemer Porter. She worked at Kresge and was a member of Nauvoo United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Portsmouth Eastern Star #424, a past member of the Eastern Star of Shelby, Ohio. She was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Scioto Memorial Hospital Guild, Better Mothers Club, Scioto County Republican Club, Federation of Women's Republican Club and a former Executive Board member of the Scioto County Republican Club. Along with her parents Louella was preceded in death by her husband Windell Mitchell who she married on May 4, 1951 in West Portsmouth and a brother Edward Porter.

Louella is survived by 2 daughters; Winda Lu (Bryan) Joseph of Chillicothe and Kimberly Ann Bikar (Rob) of Gainesville, TX, 2 sisters; her twin Lovella Litz of  Portsmouth and Lois Jean Bentley of South Shore. 4 grandchildren;  Mitchell Joseph, Carly Annette Joseph, Laura Bikar-Hickman and Andrew Bikar along with 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday September 9, 2014 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Pete Shaffer officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.  There will be an Eastern Star Service on Monday beginning at 8:00 PM by the Portsmouth Eastern Star #424.
