Louis Homer Jr., 88, of Cincinnati formerly of McDermott, died Friday December 10, 2010 at Mercy Clermont County Hospital. He was born July 14, 1922 in Portsmouth to the late Louis Homer Sr. and Elsie Aeh Henson. He was a retired fabricator at Martin Marietta for 26 years and was a decorated Army WWII veteran. He was a member of Rehoboth Mission Church and attended faithfully until he became unable. He was a skilled bass singer with the Sunrise Quartet and was an animal lover. Along with his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Jewel Homer, who he married on October 23, 1953 in Wheelersburg, his brother Lawrence C. Homer and his stepfather Homer Hension.
Louis survived by a son and his wife, David Keith and JoAnn Homer of Amelia, Ohio, two grandchildren ;Cynthia Farfsing and Abigail Homer, a great grandson Cameron Farfsing and a sister Joan Fritz of McDermott.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday December 14, 2010 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with David Lute officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park with graveside military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday starting at 1:30.
