Magdalen Catherine Stiverson 84
Magdalen Catherine Stiverson 84, a life long resident of Pond Creek, died Sunday November 30, 2008 at Heartland of Portsmouth. Magdalen was born May 1, 1924 in Scioto County to the late Joseph and Banna Smith Montavon. Magdalen was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, a Homemaker, sold Avon Tupperware and loved to Square Dance. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Clifford Earl "Skip" Stiverson, whom she married September 25, 1948; two brothers, Alfred and Charles Montavon and five sisters, Dorothy Scott, Ella Shackart, Janet Montavon, Ethel Rayburn and Ilene Benner. Magdalen took pride in her family and home.
Magdalen is survived by five sons; Tom Stiverson of Pond Creek, Bill (Pam) Stiverson of Lucasville, John (Mary) Stiverson of West Portsmouth, Steve (Edie) Stiverson of Blanchester and Perry (Terri) Stiverson of West Portsmouth; one daughter, Jane (Bruce) Lute of Portsmouth; one brother, Lawrence Montavon of Otway; one sister, Phyllis Bell of Memphis TN; 21 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11AM Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father David Young officiating and internment in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Friends may call at the Roger W.
