Margaret E. Long, 91

Margaret E. Long, 91 of Coles Park West Portsmouth, died Wednesday May 28, 2014 at SOMC Hospice. She was born June 16, 1922 in Lawrence County to the late Dent and Phrona Eaches Fleming. She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. Margaret raised her mother's children, her own children and then started taking care of children in the community, most of which were teacher's children.  Along with her parents Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Long Sr. who she married in 1938,  2 brothers; Jim and Jack and 3 sisters; Gertrude, Katherine and Norma.

Margaret is survived by a son Major Paul E. (Jeanette) Long Jr.  of McDermott and a daughter Phyllis Long Mains of Coles Park,  a brother Dent Fleming of Columbus, 3 grandchildren; Randy (Lori) Mains of Kitts Hill, Edward J. (Lisa) Long of Wheelersburg and Paula F. Long Strunk of Richmond, KY., 5 great grandchildren; August Cole Long, Matthew P. Strunk, Colin J. Long, Calista F. Long and Shawn M. Strunk.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in  Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Memorial contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice in Margaret's name Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger w. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth.
