Margie G. Logan, 87
Margie G. Logan, 87 of Friendship, died Friday September 5, 2008 at SOMC Hospice, She was born May 7, 1921 in New Boston to the late William and Florence Chamberlain Schwamberger. Margie was a lifetime resident of Friendship, she volunteered for over 30 years at the Nile Township Fire Dept Ladies Auxiallary and was a member of the 55 Club. She was a former employee of Selby Shoe Company and an election pole worker for Nile Township. In addition to a homemaker she was an accomplished seamstress and craftswoman.
Along with her parents Margie was preceded in death by her husband Otho (Toad) Logan, 2 sisters; Ada Virgin of West Portsmouth and Bonnie Staggs of Friendship an infant daughter Janice Sparks and a stepson Waldo Thompson.
Margie is survived by 4 children Deborah (Raymond) Gray of Shelbyville, Ky., Louis (Tonya) Thompson of Piketon, Naia (Rod) Risner and Mark (June) Thompson both of Friendship, and the one who shared her heart Gayle Detillion of Chillicothe, 4 step children Sue Swords of Groveport, Juanita Wolfenbarger of Waverly Barbara Weaver of Chillicothe and Phillip Logan of Michigan. Also surviving is a sister; Judith Staggs of Friendship, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday September 8, 2008 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with David Tidrick officiating and interment in Friendship Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8:00 PM on Sunday and from noon till the funeral hour on Monday. The family's favorite charity is SOMC Hospice.
