Marilyn L. Osborne, 83

Marilyn L. Tidrick Osborne (Schoettle) 83 years old, of Stout, died Friday December 9, 2011 as a result of a car accident. Marilyn was born July 30, 1928 in Friendship to the late Louis and Edna Schoettle. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Paul D. Osborne, whom she married on January 9, 1982 at Shawnee Lodge. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Roselee Schoettle, and grandparents, Louis and Rose Schoettle, and Henry and Grace Thornton.


Marilyn was a retired secretary at Shawnee State Park with twenty-two years of service, after retirement she volunteered at SOMC, RSVP, and Babes program (Say No to Drugs) at local schools. She loved animals and was strong against animal cruelty. Marilyn also volunteered with Dr. Paul Karr at his veterinarian clinic on U.S. 52 where she enjoyed the rest of her retirement. Marilyn never met a stranger and she was loved by all who knew her. She will be sadly missed by everyone.


Marilyn is survived by a brother, Louis M. Schoettle (Miriam) of Stout, OH, two sons, David (Lisa) Tidrick of Jackson, OH, Don (Cindy) Tidrick of West Portsmouth, OH and two daughters, Connie (Mark) Risner of Pond Creek, OH and Susan Tidrick of Portsmouth, OH. She has three grandchildren that she loved and adored, Jay Risner of St. Claires Shore, MI, Jessica Risner, of West Portsmouth, OH and Mika Lejo Tidrick of West Portsmouth, OH, and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her (dog) Dakota and her (birds) .

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday December 13, 2011 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Jimmy McCullough officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
