Mark Anthony Murphy Jr., 35, of West Portsmouth, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2026, at his home. He was born September 23, 1991, in Portsmouth, to Mark Anthony Murphy and Jackie Lynn Turner Murphy.

Mark was a 2010 graduate of Portsmouth West High School, where he was a proud member of the undefeated 2008 football team. He was also a member of Laborers' Local 83. Mark enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and was an avid Ohio State football fan. He was a true momma's boy who shared a special bond with his mother. Above all, Mark loved his children, who were his greatest pride and joy. He treasured the time he spent with them and the memories they made together. Mark will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for the things he enjoyed, and the special place he held in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Vicey Turner and Kitty Turner.

Along with his parents, Mark is survived by his son, Brantley Anthony Murphy; three daughters, Lynnley Jean Murphy, Mariah Murphy, and Isabella Murphy; two sisters, Heather (Dustin) Kelsar and Jacklynn (Jonathon) McCall; his grandparents, Bruce (Darlene) Murphy and Jim Turner; along with many other family members, including his nieces and nephews, who will dearly miss him.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Dustin Keslar officiating.
