Mary Lou Smith, 85

Mary Lou Smith, 85 of McDermott, died Monday May 8, 2023 at SOMC Hospice. She was born February 7, 1938 in Portsmouth to the late Raymond and Ethel Kennedy Burtrum.

Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Charles Edward Smith, whom she married on May 5, 1956.

She was retired and was a member of Dry Run Church of Christ.

Mary is survived by a son, Charles E. (Carmela) Smith Jr., a daughter Pamela (Joseph) Estep, 2 grandchildren: Jason Smith and Curtis (Jessica) Smith, 5 great grandchildren: Laken, Austin, Colton, Carter and Sadie, 1 great-grandchild, Kylee, a sister Carol Swymm and a nephew Michael Smith.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 12, 2023 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth with Mark severs officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
