Mary Lisabeth O'Dell, 74

Mary Lisabeth "Beth" O'Dell, 74 of Lucasville, died Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at OSU Medical Center in Columbus. She was born November 29, 1949 in Portsmouth to the late Ray Lee and Mary Louise Doherty Pennington. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Denise Louise Nims.

Beth was a Social Worker who retired from Jobs and Family Services. She was a board member of Scioto Residential Services and a member of St Mary's Catholic Church. Beth was a people person, full of life, she never met a stranger, she loved to talk with people. She also liked to travel, especially to Tennessee and Lake Erie and also the Rt 127 Yard Sale. But Beth really loved her grandson and spending time with him.

Beth is survived by her husband James David O'Dell, whom she married on February 14, 2000, a son Larry (Andrea) Colley, a grandson Derek Colley, 3 brothers: Jeffrey Pennington, Christopher Pennington and Craig "CB" Pennington along with 3 sisters: Raye Lee "Julie: Arnold, Diana Lynn Brown and Jamie Sexton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Portsmouth with Father Adam Streitenberger officiating. Interment will follow at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott. Friends may call from 5 to 7:00 PM on Monday at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with a Rosery Service starting at 7:00 PM.
