Mary Edna Ramey Swords,79, beloved mother and grandmother of Careys Run Road West Portsmouth went to be with the Lord Friday February 19, 2010. She was born September 9, 1930 in Portsmouth to the late Newt and Pearl Ramey. Along with her parents Mary was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Elvin Swords who she married March 24, 1947, 3 sons; Wilbur, Ronald and Archie Swords.

Mary is survived by 6 sons; Oscar E (Phyllis) Swords, Johnny (Linda) Swords, Rick (Judy) Swords, Albert (Kim) Swords, Scott (Susie) Swords of West Portsmouth, Tim (LeighAnn) Swords of Waverly. 3 daughters; Gloria (Albert) Means of Chillicothe, Cherry (Mark) Briggs, Tressa (Kevin) Hackworth of West Portsmouth, a daughter in law Hannah Swords of West Portsmouth, a sister Jean Kenrick of Lorain, Oh. 42 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren 2 great great grandchildren,

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday February 23, 2010 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Chuckey Holsinger officiating and interment in Mershon Cemetery.
