Menda "Granny" Ison Lewis, 88

Menda "Granny" Ison Lewis, 88 of Carver's Ridge, Portsmouth died Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. Menda was born March 25, 1917 in Elliott County, Kentucky to the late Alfred Anderson and Lucy Gilliam Ison. She was a member of Mt. Zion Apostolic Church.

Menda is survived by her husband Lester Lewis who she married November 8, 1939 in Sandy Hook, KY. She is also survived by two sons Leland (Martha) Ison of Lucasville and Wayne (Sue) Lewis of Hendersonville, TN; two daughters, Brenda Lou (Robert) Skaggs of Portsmouth and Judy Kristene Mills of Winchester, KY; 19 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 16 great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter and her husband, Patricia Delane and Clifford Toppins; four brothers, Estil, Doc, Sam and Steve Ison; and three sisters Maude Miller, Mae Kelly and Hattie Porter; one granddaughter and one great, great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Saturday, December 17, 2005 at Mt. Zion Apostolic Church with Don Harr and Edward Messer officiating with interment in Sunset Gardens.
