Mildred Riffe, 94
Mildred Riffe, 94, of Portsmouth formerly of West Portsmouth died Thursday, November 23, 2006 at her residence. She was born February 16, 1912 in Adams County to the late George and Elsie Ridout Rivers. Mildred graduated from Manchester High School in 1931 as Valedictorian of her class. She was a homemaker and a member of the Nauvoo United Methodist Church.
Mildred was also preceded in death by her husband Wilson Riffe, Sr. in 1964. 3 sons; Wilson Riffe, Jr., Donald Riffe and Richard Riffe. 1 daughter Evelyn Hall a granddaughter Lisa Riffe, 1 great grandchild, 4 brothers and 1 sister.
Mildred is survived by 2 sons Harold (Doris) Riffe of Lucasville, James Michael (Ellamay) Riffe of Otway, 3 daughters; Loudean Nickel of Ozark, Mo., Ruth Ann Riffe of Portsmouth and Linda (Larry) Nickel of Portsmouth, 1 sister Lucile Huff of Covington, Ky. 15 grandchildren; Steven, Rick, Gary and Tom Riffe, Karen Whisman, Vickie Risner, Dale Riffe, Patty Fitch, Angie Ault, Brian and Terry Riffe, Kevin Riffe, Bob Nickel, Cathy Fox and Marie Colvin, along with 40 great-grandchildren and 3 gt gt grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00AM Monday November 27, 2006 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Pete Shaffer officiating. Interment will be at McKendree Cemetery in Stout. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5PM to 8PM on Sunday and 1 hour prior to the service on Monday. The family's favorite charities are the Nauvoo United Methodist Church, Shawnee State University Development Foundation and Hospice of Southern Ohio.
