Mimi Semancik, 31
Mimi Semancik, age 31, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. She was born December 10, 1994, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late Jimmy Dean Pierce and Erin (Boren) Ballengee, who survives.
Mimi was a 2013 graduate of Portsmouth West High School and graduated with her bachelor’s degree in only two years from Ohio University.
After moving to Cincinnati to attend graduate school at the University of Cincinnati, Mimi received her degree in School Psychology. She would go on to work as a school psychologist at Hamilton County ESC.
Along with her mother, Mimi is survived by her loving husband, Nathan Semancik; her mother, Erin Ballengee; her stepfather, Greg Ballengee; and her brothers, Christopher Grant Oliver and Brian Dennis Pierce. She brought joy and laughter into their lives and the lives of many others, cherishing every moment spent together.
In her personal life, Mimi was a creative spirit with a variety of hobbies that brought her joy and relaxation. She enjoyed baking and often delighted friends and family with her delicious treats. Mimi was passionate about drawing and playing the ukulele, always finding ways to express herself artistically. She loved putting together puzzles and immersing herself in the world of video games, where she found both escape and inspiration. A devoted Dungeons & Dragons enthusiast, Mimi cherished the camaraderie and adventures shared with her gaming group, where laughter and creativity flourished.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Visitation will be held on Saturday beginning at 1:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
