Monroe A. Montgomery, 77 of Lucasville died Friday November 1, 2013 at the home of his daughter in Newark, Ohio. He was born January 18, 1936 in Scioto County to the late Oakley and Ella Jenkins Montgomery. He was a member of Big Run United Baptist Church. Along with his parents Monroe was preceded in death by his wife Eula Mae Tackett Montgomery on September 8, 2013, who he married on June 20, 1952 in Portsmouth, 2 sons; McClellon "Mac" Montgomery and Rufus Montgomery, 2 brothers; Charles and Julius Montgomery and a sister Joann Neighbarger.

Monroe is survived by 6 sons; Marvin, Oakie, Charles, Keith, Kevin and Dustin Montgomery, a daughter Monica Montgomery, 28 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Cliff and Merle Montgomery and 2 sisters Octavia Angle and Freda Blevins.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday November 6, 2013 at Big Run United Baptist Church with Elder Curt Smith, Arvil "Jr" Murray and Claude Mollett officiating. Interment will be in Big Run Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday starting at 1:00 PM and until the funeral hour on Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W.
