Nicholas M. Johnson, 64

Nicholas Marion Johnson of McDermott went home to be with God at Southern Ohio Medical Center September 4, 2006 after a battle with leukemia since February of this year.

He was a member of Dry Run Church of Christ in West Portsmouth. He loved God and enjoyed Missionary work in Haiti in the late 80's and early 90's.

A native of Scioto County, he was born to Rose Elizabeth (Reiser) Johnson and the late Albert M. Johnson in Friendship on October 7, 1941.

A beloved husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Wilma J.Johnson; a son, Matthew (Jennifer) Johnson of West Portsmouth; a daughter, Susan (Troy) Tolle of Cincinnati; three grandchildren who were the joy of his life, Sarah Elizabeth Johnson, age 16, his horse riding partner; twins Troy Alexander and Bailey Lynn Tolle, age 2 who made laughter possible even in trying times with Nicks illness; a brother and good friend, John D. Johnson of McDermott.

Nick was employed at Scioto County Joint Vocational School in Lucasville for the last 25 years. Early in his career there, he worked with Seniors in the Electrical Program and later in his career he worked with Diversified Industrial Training with the Adult Programs. He made many friends at the school, especially Stan Jennings, Roy Bennett, Don Gibson, Sarah and Cindy and Many, Many more—God Bless you all.

Nick will be sadly missed by his family and friends. His wish for all of you – "Be ready to meet God and I'll see you in Heaven someday.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donation go to Dry Run Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Thursday, September 7, 2006 at Dry Run Church of Christ with Mark Seevers officiating and interment in Sunshine Ridge Cemetery at Blue Creek. Friends may call at the church from 9 A.M. until 11. Funeral Services under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth.
