Omar D. Bivens, 80

Omar D. "Dick" Bivens, 80 of Stout died Monday April 1, 2013 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born July 6, 1932 in Lewis County, Kentucky to the late Russell and Maggie Ginn Bivens. He was a United States Marine Corps, Korean War veteran and was a retired custodian from Ohio Valley Schools. Along with his parents Dick was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Bivens Jr. and a brother Russell Bivens.

Dick is survived by his wife Eleanor Lewis Bivens who he married on November 20, 1953, 2 daughters; Brenda (Mike) Jayne of Stout and Linda (Dale) Hodge of Manchester, 2 sons; Timothy (Vickie) Bivens of Stout and Thomas Bivens of Sevierville, TN., 4 grandchildren; Megan Bivens, Brittany Hodge, Corey Bivens and Kayla Jayne, 2 step grandchildren; Michael (Sandy) Holsinger and Chad Holsinger, 4 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Louise Miracle and Lucille Hickle both of Vanceburg, Ky. and Peggy (Gayle) Piatt of Cynthiana, Ky.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday April 5, 2013 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Wayne Harper officiating. Interment will be in McKendree Cemetery will military graveside rites by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard and the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
