Patricia A. "Pat" Mitchell, 76

Patricia A. "Pat" Mitchell, 76 of West Portsmouth, died Sunday May 7, 2017 at SOMC Hospice. She was born August 11, 1940 in Chesterfield, South Carolina to the late LeRoy and Annabell Moore Isgett Proctor. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Donald Mitchell Jr. whom she married July 14, 1965, a brother Fred Isgett, and a sister Bobbi Isgett Odom.

Pat was a seamstress known for the gorgeous pageant gowns she created and adorned with rhinestones, wedding dresses she embellished with lace and pearls, numerous choir and cheerleading uniforms she made, and the many alterations she stitched with love. It seemed that all the neighborhood kids loved to gather at her house and knew if they were hungry, Pat would make a snack.  Pat's most cherished time was when JD, Alex, Michael and Whitney were little, she loved every minute she was able to spend with them. She became grandma Pat to quite a few. One of her most favorite things to do was to have a cup of coffee with a friend.

Pat is survived by a son Donald Mitchell III (Betty) of West Portsmouth, a daughter, Lori (Todd) Jenkins of McDermott, 2 brothers; Billy Isgett of Huntsville, NC and Charles Isgett of Tuscan, AR., 2 grandchildren; JD Mitchell and Whitney Jenkins, and 2 great grandchildren; Connor and Brantlee Mitchell, her next door grandchildren Alex and Michael Davis, along with many friends and neighborhood kids that loved her dearly
