Paul Vernon Arnett, 78

Paul Vernon Arnett, 78 of West Portsmouth died Tuesday April 28, 2015 at SOMC Hospice. He was born August 8, 1936 in West Portsmouth to the late Boone and Virgie Salyer Arnett. Paul was a retired roofer with 42 years of roofing. He was a member of Roofers Local 307/185 where he was a former Business Agent. After his retirement he continued working at Hills West Side Florist. He was also known as a "personal chauffer" and "bus driver" to many. Along with his parents, Paul was preceded in death by two brothers; Ralph and Robert Arnett.

Paul is survived by his wife Shirley Kitchen Arnett who he married on November 25, 1954, a son Phillip "Tony" (Carolyn) Arnett, a daughter Paula (Butch) Rose, his twin sister, Patricia (Tom) Payne, sisters-in law; Georgetta Arnett, Mary Arnett, Janet (Howard) Weghorst and Penny Miller. He was the "Best Papaw in the World" to Heather Runions, Heidi (Eric) Berry, Adam Arnett and Bryson Arnett, great grandchildren Hayden Runions and Brayden Berry. He was also know as the favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday May 2, 2015 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Pete Shaffer officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park.
