Paul C. Matthews II, 44
Paul C. Matthews II, 44 of West Portsmouth died Thursday September 22, 2011 at SOMC Hospice. He was born June 11, 1967 in Portsmouth to the late Paul C. Matthews and Christine Buffinger Matthews of West Portsmouth. Paul was the owner/operator of Sign Pro. Along with his father Paul was preceded in death by a daughter Kristen Matthews and a brother Delbert Matthews.
Along with his mother, Paul is survived by his wife Sherri Overby Matthews who he married on February 28, 2009, 2 daughters; Jessica Poole of Dayton and Kendal Matthews of West Portsmouth, a stepson Brennan Overby of West Portsmouth, 6 brothers; Fred (Brenda) Matthews and Samuel Matthews all of Rarden, Michael Matthews and Stephen (Frances) Matthews all of West Portsmouth, John (Eunice) Matthews of McDermott and James (Joanne) Matthews of Jacksonville, Fl., 2 sisters; Susan Matthews of Portsmouth and Vicki Matthews Hanson of Grove City, 2 grandchildren Lily Marie and Zoe Faye both of Dayton, father and mother-in-law Bob and Debbie Overby of Huntington, WVa, a sister-in-law Nikki (Daniel) Fint of Sissonville, WVa, and 2 special friends Maxie Grooms and Phillip Lane along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM Monday September 26, 2011 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Dr. Greg Hudson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday starting at 5:30. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to SOMC Hospice in Paul's name.
