Paul "Craig" Shaw, 75

Paul "Craig" Shaw, 75 of West Portsmouth, died Thursday, June 12, 2026, at his home. He was born May 16, 1951, in Portsmouth to the late Orville and Ceceila (Yates) Shaw.

Along with his parents, Craig was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Freda Mae Shaw. The two were united in marriage on January 10, 1975, and shared nearly 48 years together, building a life centered on love, family, and countless cherished memories.

Craig was a 1969 graduate of Portsmouth West High School and retired from the State of Ohio, where he worked as a Data Entry Specialist. He was known for his remarkable work ethic and dedication, taking pride in every task he undertook. He was also a former volunteer firefighter for Nile Township and a man who enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He loved Cincinnati Reds baseball, dirt track racing, bluegrass music, and spending time with family and friends. He had a special interest in genealogy and enjoyed researching family history, tracing family connections, and sharing stories of generations past. Whether he was catching up with relatives, attending a race, listening to bluegrass music, or cheering on the Reds, Craig found joy in the people and things he loved most.

Above all, Craig cherished his family. He treasured the time spent with those he loved and leaves behind many memories that will be held close by family and friends for years to come.

He is survived by his daughter, Leslie (Steve Fyffe) Shaw; his son, Ryan (Melissa Renner) Shaw; his grandson, Isaac Fyffe; along with many other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, June 19, 2026 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with interment to follow in McKendree Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Sierra's Haven in Craig's memory.
