Peggy Leigh Montavon, 70

Peggy Leigh Pendleton Montavon, 70, of West Portsmouth, Ohio, left this earthly home Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at SOMC Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 19, 1953 in Portsmouth, to the late Carl Pendleton & Carolyn Leedy Rice who survives.

Along with her father, Peggy was preceded in death by her grandparents Charles and Edna Andis Kirk Pendleton, and Estel and Gladys Womacks Leedy; mother & father in law Louis and Evelyn Montavon; Uncles; Gary and Ray Pendleton, Kenny Horsely and Charles Leedy. Aunts Virginia Pendleton Horsely, Barbara Leedy Mandery, Gaynell Leedy Gose and Sue Leedy, sister in law Rita Montavon Green.

Peggy was a dedicated Portsmouth Kroger employee of 33 years, starting as a "Demo Girl" and retiring as deli manager. She was a proud alumni of Portsmouth West High School class of 1971. She was a 4H advisor for many years, taught Sunday School, assisted with Girl Scouts and volunteered with many functions in multiple capacities. She attended Dry Run Church of Christ. Her relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was forefront in her life. She shared & showed her love of the Lord in all that she did. Peggy was a faithful Christian & known for her kind, loving, & gracious nature. Peggy was a wonderful wife, mother, mamaw, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She truly had a heart of gold.

Along with her mother Peggy is survived by her husband, Michael J. Montavon, whom she married on June 23, 1973; a daughter Stacy Elaine Montavon, a son Christopher Michael Montavon; brothers Charles Bucky (Debbie) Pendleton and Ronnie Pendleton, a sister Stephanie (Mike) Hollis, Grandsons; Westley (Kylie) Montavon and Dawson Montavon, granddaughters; Kalyn ( Tyler) Henry and Olivia Montavon, great grandson Jax Henry, aunts; Linda Pendleton & Doris Leedy; sisters in law Beverly Mays, Janet (Roger) Tieman and Jennifer ( Mark) Newman along with many friends, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Peggy will be greatly missed by all of her loved ones.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 26, 2024 at Dry Run Church of Christ with Mark Seevers Officiating. Friends and family  will gather at the church starting at 12:00 PM Noon. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to SOMC Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth.
