Phyllis Blakeman, 74

Phyllis M. Blakeman, 74 of West Portsmouth died Saturday July 21, 2012 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born May 12, 1938 to the late Albert and Doris M. Distel Redoutey. Phyllis worked in the Portsmouth West High School cafeteria for many years. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by 2 brothers; George and Carl Redoutey, a sister; Alberta (Franklin) Morgan, brother in law; David Jarvis, a special aunt; Sarah Myers Sparks and daughter in law Debra L. Blakeman.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Ralph L. Blakeman who she married September 14, 1957, 3 sons; Jeff A. Blakeman of West Portsmouth, Richard Blakeman of Barboursville WV, and Paul Blakeman of Lucasville, 3 grandchildren; Jackson Blakeman son of Melissa Blakeman, Kara Beth Blakeman daughter of Kelli Rose, and Melissa (Michael) Blakeman Gay, 2 great grandchildren; Macey Lynn and Mikey Gay, a brother; Robert (Josephene) Redoutey of Portsmouth, 5 sisters; Joann (Gene) Staggs of West Portsmouth, Ruth (Ron Ratliff) Jarvis of West Portsmouth, Virginia (William) Burton of West Portsmouth, Linda (William) Bentley of South Shore, and Rita Thoroughman of Portsmouth, sister in law; Cathy (Lynn) Pridemore of Portsmouth, brother in law; Wendell (Sandy) Blakeman of Portsmouth, several nieces and nephews, friends, neighbors, and special students she loved at Portsmouth West High School.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday July 24, 2012 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth and interment in Garvin Cemetery in Lombardsville.
