Phyllis A. Sissel, 78

Phyllis Avanell Jackson Sissel, 78 of West Portsmouth went to be with the Lord on Saturday February 21, 2009 at SOMC Hospice. She was born June 16, 1930 in West Portsmouth to the late Branch Wallace and Lula Conley Jackson. Along with her parents Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Chester Roy Sissel.

Phyllis was known by her kids as "granny". She had the greatest personality and was so friendly and loving. She had many friends and was loved by everyone. She devoted her life to her children and grandchildren, she will be missed but never forgotten and will remain in our hearts until we meet her again in heaven.

Phyllis is survived by , 3 sons; Stephen Wayne (Zelda) Sissel Sr of West Portsmouth, Dwight Terry (Lora) Sissel of Ripley, Randy Wallace (Ronda) Sissel of Otway, 2 daughters; Kelly Lynn (Richard) Holsinger and Lisa Marlene (Joey) Monteith both of West Portsmouth, 9 grandchildren; Christina (John) Mahle, Cassy (Josh) Rawlins and Stephen (Missy) Sissel Jr, Ryan Sissel, Shirese Sissel, Richie Holsinger, Trevor Holsinger , Ashley Monteith and Jason (Kaylan) Shepard, 6 great grandchildren; John Jr., Ethan and Laycie Mahle and Audrey and Allayna Sissel and Suede Shepard 3 sisters; Judy Anderson of Alexandra, VA., Patricia Doll of West Portsmouth and Linda Morgan of Lagrange.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 24, 2008 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Joey Nelson officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8:00 PM on Monday and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
