Ray Howard, 87

Ray Howard, 87 of Wheelersburg, formally of West Portsmouth, died Wednesday May 19, 2010 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born March 20 1923 in Garrison Ky. to the late Ernest and Stella Jones Howard. He was a retired barber and brakeman for the N&W railroad. Ray was an Army Veteran of WWII and Korea. He was a Mason and a lifetime member of the Nauvoo Masonic Lodge #769 and a 32nd Degree Mason. Along with his parents Ray was preceded in death by his wife Emma Jean Ruark Howard and a brother Norman Howard.

Ray is survived by a daughter Deborah (John) Risner of Wheelersburg, two grandchildren Mandi (Gabe) Coriell of Lucasville and Andi Risner of Portsmouth, 4 great grandchildren; Levi Coriell, twins Madison and McKenzie Coriell and Devon Risner, also surviving is a sister Hilda Pruitt of Garrison Ky.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Roger W Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth Ohio, with Reverend Matthew Brookes officiating. Interment will be in Skidmore Cemetery with military graveside rites by Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post # 5438. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 on Friday where Masonic services will be held at 8:00 PM with Nauvoo Masonic Lodge # 769 presiding, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
